A senior architect's practice — not a body shop.
DeployCraft Ltd is a UK limited company built around a simple idea: give teams direct access to senior cloud and platform engineering without the overhead of a large consultancy. You work with the person doing the thinking and the building.
Over 17 years I've worked across the full arc of enterprise infrastructure — from IBM i (AS/400) on Power Systems and IBM storage estates through to cloud platforms on all four major providers. I've architected and automated those platforms, built the CI/CD and Kubernetes foundations teams ship on daily, and — increasingly — helped organisations move AI from proof-of-concept to production.
That range matters most during migration. I've run the systems organisations are moving away from, not only the ones they are moving to — including the licensing and storage decisions that quietly determine whether a modernisation programme lands on budget. The through-line is engineering rigour: infrastructure as code, everything observable, nothing that can't be reproduced.
How I think about the work.
Automate everything worth repeating
If a task happens twice, it belongs in code. Reproducibility is not a luxury — it is how you sleep at night.
Make trade-offs explicit
Every architecture is a set of compromises. I surface them plainly so you can make informed decisions, not inherit hidden ones.
Leave teams stronger
The best outcome is a client who no longer needs me. Documentation and knowledge transfer are part of the deliverable, not an afterthought.
Production is the only real test
Demos are easy. I optimise for the day-100 experience: observable, cost-aware and boringly reliable.
Depth across the stack.

Let's build something reliable.
Cloud platform, migration, or an AI capability you need to get into production — I'd like to hear about it.
